Kansas City-based envelope manufacturer Tension Corporation, which claims to be the first to company to introduced reusable carriers more than 50 years ago, launched full-scale production of home-town partner Sprint’s new two-way-billing ecoEnvelope. Sprint’s customers will be able to use the patent-pending ecoEnvelope to receive and pay their bills using the same envelopes. Sprint estimates the new envelope format will save approximately $500,000 in operational costs per year and the equivalent of:

>> 447 tons of paper,
>> Nearly 10 million gallons of water (15 Olympic-sized swimming pools),
>> 859,047 pounds of solid waste (31 loaded garbage trucks) and
>> 2.7 million pounds of CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent) (244 cars off the road per year).
