Going, Going, Gone

Robert Sachs is rejoining Continental Consulting, the Boston-based consulting firm he co-founded in ’98 with Rob Stengel, former svp, programming for Continental Cablevision. Sachs bid good-bye Mon not only to his job as NCTA chief but like Decker Anstrom before him, also to his cable tchotchkeys. NCTA staff bid on some of Sachs’s cable goodies, raising $6K for Cable Positive. Big-ticket items included bottles of wine that fetched more than $100. (We hear cable theft head Nilda Gumbs may want to start moonlighting as an auctioneer.) A staff reception to bid goodbye to Sachs followed. Former dep sec of Energy Kyle McSlarrow takes the reins at NCTA today.
