ZTE Germany GmbH and Cologne-based IET Holding will build a $1.3 billion optical network targeting underserved broadband areas in Germany as a result of German/Chinese inter-governmental consultations in late August. Approximately 33 percent of German households have no high-speed network access. Also part of this five-year-long infrastructure project is the upgrade to as many as 1.5 million already-connected households to high-speed Internet access with transfer rates as fast as 200 Mbps…Brazil’s TV Globo International is the newest member of GlobeCast’s MyGlobeTV platform. Notes GlobeCast Americas CEO Lisa Coelho, "With MyGlobeTV, the significant and growing community of Brazilians and Portuguese speakers in the United States and, indeed, any viewers with a broadband connection will be able to watch TV Globo International and follow the news in real time as well as live sports, soap operas, miniseries, children’s programs and entertainment."
