21Vianet Group Inc., reportedly the largest carrier-neutral Internet data center services provider in China, is buying another Chinese company, Internet content delivery network (CDN) services operator Fastweb International Holdings. As part of the deal, Fastweb CEO Edward Liu will join 21Vianet as chief software officer…Globecomm Systems Inc. snagged a$2.7 million contract for a new broadband wireless system technology from Somalia’s Somcable Limited (SCL). Globecomm will provide the infrastructure to allow SCL to deliver voice, Internet, TV and video communication services at “minimal entry-level cost”…Chellomedia, the international content division of Liberty Global Inc., will use gear from Israel’s Tvinci to power an online movie service offering for Film1, the Dutch premium-TV service. The service, Film1 Go, will allow subscribers to watch Film1’s library of international movie content on a number of devices anywhere, anytime by December.
