If you know your OSPF routers and CMTS configuration, then come on down. You could be the next contestant in the SCTE IP Challenge. Now in its third year, the Cisco-sponsored event kicks off with a week of online practice on June 2. The online qualifying rounds feature “Jeopardy”-style questions (June 23-29 and again July 7-13). The eight SCTE members with the highest scores are eligible to move onto the live semifinals and finals at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in October in Atlanta.
The finalists will compete against each other and last year’s winner, Bradford Chatterjee, a network engineer for Cable One. Hands-on activities, including router and CMTS configuration, take place before a live audience, Oct 21. The IP Challenge winner will receive one full-conference pass to Cisco Live and one full-conference pass to SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® 2014, at which he or she will defend the IP Challenge title. All participants in the qualifying rounds will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win one of five CCENT Part 1 Training Packages (includes CCNA1 Cisco Academy e-course, practice exams and textbook).
