Adelphia reached a proposed settlement with the city of L.A. that will see the MSO freeze most cable rates until July. The MSO will create a basic tier of 38 channels for $12/month. The MSO’s least expensive package costs a bit more than $30. Adelphia will reduce its infrastructure surcharge from $2.35/month to 25 cents during the next 12 years. The city has been feuding with Adelphia for years, most recently accusing it of overcharging customers.
