JDSU is this year’s winner of the Frost & Sullivan Global Product Line Strategy Award.
According to the company, after an extensive evaluation several equipment manufacturers, F&S concluded JDSU “led the competition based on breadth of product line and applications/markets served, size of addressable customer base, and impact on customer value and market share.”
F&S cited several JDSU communications test, measurement, service assurance and services solutions for excellence, including the Class of Service (CoS) test suite to the HST-3000 Handheld Services Tester and T-BERD/MTS-4000 Multiple Services Test Platform, which helps field engineers to validate performance of multiple services.
“Frost & Sullivan recognizes the critical role that communications test solutions play in supporting the rapid, cost-effective deployment of next-generation networks and services,” said Olga Yashkova, industry analyst at F&S. ”JDSU’s expansive, diverse product line and focused strategy stood out as the innovative and a clear leader, effectively positioning the company to support service providers and help them deliver high-quality services in a highly competitive marketplace.”
According to the research firm, some of the key differentiators that separate JDSU from its competitors include:
- the important role JDSU plays in the evolution from traditional TDM to Ethernet/IP- based networks that enable next generation, multi-service networks;
- real-time monitoring and analysis of Multi Protocol Transport Services (MPTS), single program transport stream, video streams, peak cell rate timing health monitoring, and detailed analysis on selected streams without disrupting the full line monitoring capability; and
- the range of Ethernet test platforms providing service providers with the ability to both stress test and verify Ethernet transport and ensure QoS of IP services – whether it is a Carrier Ethernet link supplying voice, video and data connectivity, or a wireless backhaul to a 3G or 4G cell site.
“JDSU collaborates closely with our customers to understand their needs and how they install and maintain their networks throughout the life cycle” said Dave Holly, president of JDSU’s Communications Test and Measurement business segment. “The key has been consistently providing innovative solutions that give customers the right tools to meet their business objectives at the right time and also to ensure quality – we are proud to have earned this industry recognition.”
