In anticipation of all the wireless tweeting and Facebooking activity starting today at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., Time Warner Cable installed the Ruckus Wireless ZoneFlex family of high-capacity Smart Wireless LAN (WLAN) systems to provide high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the 19,000-seat Time Warner Cable Arena. The new Wi-Fi network replaces the old one via 120+ ZoneFlex high-capacity, indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi access points with integrated adaptive antenna arrays that focus signals only where they are needed, Ruckus says. ARRIS was the integration partner…It’s never too early to get a start on this, so the SCTE (Society for Broadband Professionals) in the U.K.,has opened its SCTE 2013 Technological Innovation Awards and Individual Achievement Awards entry window (click here for more information). The awards recognize the achievements of companies and individuals in the broadband arena, and they will be presented during the SCTE Gala Dinner next March. Previous SCTE Technological Innovation Awards winners include Harmonic, RGB Networks, Technetix and Ineoquest.
