Editor’s Letter: About our Authors
Some notes on this month’s team.
Senior Technology Editor Ron Hranac needs no introduction. His regular Broadband column this month features a look back at 40 years of SCTE history, revealing something of his own significant role in that record along the way.
This month’s Bullpen columnist is Brady Volpe, systems testing expert with more than 15 years of broadband cable experience. In June, he co-authored our cover story on DOCSIS 3.0 upstream. In the Reality Check seat this month is Comcaster Sean Bristol, whose decade-long engagement with GIS technology is the catalyst of his essay.
Taking the lead on this month’s profile of WIT Award winner Barbara Jaffe and our MDU Tech Guide was well-known industry veteran Craig Kuhl, whose writings have appeared in CED, MultiChannel News, Wireless Week and elsewhere.
Longtime contributor Monta Hernon surveyed Metro Ethernet and cell backhaul for us this month. The former editor of Communications Today, Chicago-based Hernon often assists CT at industry shows.
In-house Associate Editor Linda Hardesty led the attack on CDNs this month. Hardesty joined CT in late 2008, having spent several years earlier in her career at Cable World. More recently, she published a Web site covering the green building industry. Her writing now appears regularly in CT Reports and on our website, www.cable360.net/ct.
Filing a story under our Optical Outlook department was George Lawton, a California-based freelancer who has written for more than 40 technical publications. Finally, helping us with the DOCSIS Tech Guide was Timothy Sprinkle, most recently senior editor at The Bridge.
