Telekom Austria is deploying Edgeware´s video delivery appliances to power its aonTV service.

Telekom Austria´s aonTV service, launched in 2006, features over 90 TV channels, a VOD library with over 1,000 movies and series, HD TV content, free-of-charge weather forecasts and traffic reports, as well as the Austrian news channel “Zeit im Bild” on-demand.?

As part of its new IPTV platform delivered by Ericsson, Telekom Austria is deploying next-generation purpose-built appliances from Edgeware to deliver its on-demand TV and video content. Edgeware´s video delivery system is an integral part of Ericsson´s end-to-end, multi-platform TV solution.

Edgeware´s video appliances enable Telekom Austria to deploy an intelligent on-demand delivery architecture that is distributed across the country. By caching content closer to the users, the on-demand services can continue to grow without the need for continual and costly upgrades to the network.
