Three Providers Buy $6M Worth Of Cognitive RF Gear
xG Technology Inc., a developer of cognitive radio networks, won $6 million in new purchase commitments from PMC Associates (Hazlet, N.J.), Communications Marketing Southeast (Dallas, Ga.) and Mobile-One Communications (Venice, Fla.). These established Providers add to the growing ecosystem of industry participants that xG is assembling to bring xMax solutions to multiple vertical markets. The orders include xMax wireless access points, xMSC mobile switching centers and xMod personal hot spots (capable of supporting existing smartphones, tablets and laptops).
Industry Canada Revamps RF Licensing Platform
By the end of the year, regulatory agency Industry Canada will be using the spectrum-management system SPECTRA Enterprise from LS telcom Limited for the frequency assignment and coordination of all fixed Canadian RF services. The contract includes delivery and installation of a software system for 500 concurrent users as well as professional services, training and system maintenance. SPECTRA Enterprise also will manage such administrative tasks as equipment certification, investigation and monitoring analysis; all functions will be in English and French.
