Taiwanese company CyberLink has released TrueTheater Enhancer that improves the playback quality of videos on YouTube, including HD online video content. Based on the same advanced TrueTheater Technology that is featured in CyberLink’s DVD player software, PowerDVD,TrueTheater Enhancer ensures YouTube videos can now be played at full-screen size.

TrueTheater Enhancer addresses common video quality issues that occur when video content is streamed over the Web with the following video playback improvements:

  • Intelligently adjusts video brightness, contrast and saturation
  • Removes the “image graying” that commonly appears with online video
  • Reduces video noise, making videos appear less “grainy”
  • Balances skin tones, ensuring a natural appearance despite adjustment
  • Sharpens onscreen text such as subtitles, making them noticeably easier to read
  • Enables full-screen video playback without creating jagged edges on magnified content

The application is a plug-in for Windows Internet Explorer, providing the option for the user to compare the original YouTube video playback quality with the improved TrueTheater Enhancer quality.
