CableFAX’s sister pub Communications Technology has awarded this year’s prestigious “Women in Technology” Award to Susan Adams, svp, Engineering and Operations for Comcast Cable’s Northeast Division. The winner was chosen by CT, Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) and the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE).

“The number of talented women who are moving the industry forward is a testament to operators, networks and vendors that are creating an environment for career growth,” said Debbie Vodenos, publisher of the Communications Technology Group at Access Intelligence. “We congratulate Susan along with all of the hard-working women who were nominated for the award this year.”

Sponsored by Bright House Networks, the accolade honors the achievements of one woman who has significantly contributed to the cable telecommunications industry. Adams oversees the technical teams who build and maintain Comcast’s voice, video and data networks for 7.8 million customers across 14 states. In 2008, CableFAX named her one of the industry’s “Most Powerful Women in Cable” and in 2010 she earned our “Top Women in Cable Tech” honor.
