Chunghwa Telecom in Taiwan has selected the BigBand Networks MSP2000 for advanced advertising on HD and SD content, in both MPEG-2 and H.264 for Chunghwa’s flagship service, Multimedia-On-Demand (MOD). The deployment is aimed at boosting Chunghwa’s IPTV revenues.

Chunghwa Telecom offers telephone, mobile, leased line, Internet and other services to more than 4.7 million subscribers. In addition, Chunghwa Telecom provides its IPTV MOD service to more than 700,000 subscribers as of year-end 2008. Delivered through Chunghwa Telecom’s broadband network and IPTV set-top-boxes, MOD is a next generation digital home entertainment platform integrating television channels, VOD, and personalized application services.
