Every year, we receive a number of Best of the Web nominations representing myriad digital initiatives in all kinds of different areas. Some win awards. Others don’t. But we’re always struck by the quality of the teams that consistently put together truly inspiring work on behalf of their diverse companies and networks. So for the first time, we’re honoring a “Digital Team of the Year” based on the cumulative efforts of all involved. And this year, we’re recognizing AMC for its consistently creative, bold and meticulously planned digital efforts that have helped build its brand into, well… we think the fact that the parent company was renamed AMC Networks says it all. Whether it’s “Mad Men Yourself” games or interactive graphic novels to promo “Breaking Bad” or just behind-the-scenes extras to help fans figure out mind-bending mysteries surrounding “The Killing,” AMC does incredible work on a small budget. It’s about time that svp, digital media Mac McKean and his entire team get this well-deserved recognition.
