Power solutions provider, Alpha Technologies, and The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), have published the "Network and Facilities Power Reference Guide" designed specifically for the cable telecommunications industry.

The guide is designed to increase the level of understanding of the science of power among field engineers, operations professionals and other cable personnel. Topics within the Power Pocket Guide include the following: Electrical Principles, Conductors and Powering Cable Specifications, Outside Plant Powering, Critical Facilities Powering and Alternative Energy.

Of all network failures, more than 67 percent are avoidable, as most are caused by inadvertent human error. The reference guide serves as a "best practices" handbook for cable professionals as they address powering issues that are the foundation of reliability for all network services.

The reference book is available digitally here.
