Outdoor Channel [OUTD] hit a new 52-week high Fri, closing up 10% to $38. — Hughes Electronics [HS] began a reorg last week at its corporate HQ. The co consolidated several functions into its DirecTV unit, shuffling 30 employees into the DBS side, and eliminating 50 other positions. —RCN’s been all business lately. It inked pacts to bring Ethernet to the Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons hotel chains; it will extend Columbia U’s dark fiber backbone and deliver other services to FiberNet Telecom, Partners Healthcare and D.C.’s Catholic U.
