Vyyo [VYYO] will acquire substantially all the shares of Israel’s Xtend Networks, which provides solutions to increase the bandwidth of last-mile cable TV networks. The price? Not more than $19.6mln. Vyyo will issue about 1.4mln shares of common stock and 146K shares of restricted stock as well as up to $10.7mln in cash. — SCTE launched broadband search engine "InfoScope" Mon on its Web page (http://info.scte.org). The SCTE members-only service offers up engineering info on cable technology topics such as VOD, VoIP, DOCSIS, HDTV and WiFi. — NTT subsidiary Plala Net tapped P-Cube to monitor and control P2P traffic across its network. A trial run of P-Cube’s tech allowed the Japanese op to reduce bandwidth-gobbling file-sharing traffic exponentially.
