Bresnan Names DeMond CEO

William J. Bresnan, founder of Bresnan Communications, today announced the appointment of Jeffrey S. DeMond as chief executive officer, a post previously held by Mr. Bresnan, effective immediately. Mr. Bresnan is assuming the role of chairman.

As chairman, Mr. Bresnan will focus on the cable company’s strategic and industry relationships. Bresnan Communications operates cable telecommunications systems serving some 320,000 customers in Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and Utah.

“It is my great pleasure to name Jeff DeMond as CEO of Bresnan Communications” Mr. Bresnan said in a statement. “This transition is the next step in a succession plan begun several years ago to ensure continuity in the goals of our company. Jeff has been a key member of our executive team for 24 years and it is in that breadth of experience that my confidence in him to maintain our company’s culture, philosophy and business direction is rooted.”

According to both Mr. Bresnan and Mr. DeMond, the restructuring is designed to strengthen the company’s ability to pursue strategic opportunities. It also will create a more unified focus on driving greater cash flow and value growth for the business, they said.

“Jeff’s appointment as CEO is further acknowledgement that, as president of Bresnan Communications since 2005, he has demonstrated a capacity worthy of this title,” Bresnan stated. “In addition, he has led our company in the acquisition, financing, integration and growth of our many domestic and international communications businesses. This broad range of both operational and financial skills made him an ideal candidate for this post.”

Mr. DeMond will report to Mr. Bresnan. All other company officers, departments and functions will report directly or indirectly to Mr. DeMond.
