Blankom USA announced today the introduction of its EQM100 family of edge QAM modulators and DIX 200 remultiplexer. The EQM100 is a modular unit designed for eight, 16 and 24 channels of 6 MHz QAM channels. It is designed to support both private cable networks as well as independent cable operators who wish to take advantage of the cost savings of video distribution over existing high-bandwidth fiber-optic IP networks. The DIX remultiplexer is used for regrouping transport streams in a central headend, all in IP, should an operator completely transition its plant to IP.

The company will demonstrate the EQM100 at the upcoming ACA Summit in Washington, DC, on April 28.
