The percent of cable subs with high interest in VOD increased to 39% in ’05 from 30% last year, while the percent who purchased a VOD movie or program increased to 19% from 11%, according to Beta Research’s latest survey. Cable subs very interested in GSN, The N, G4, Si TV, CoLours TV, Fit TV, VH1 Soul, Noggin, MTV Jams, Fuse and Fuel were more likely than others to have high interest in VOD. VOD networks achieving the highest interest were Discovery On Demand, History Channel On Demand, Disney/Playhouse Disney On Demand and National Geographic On Demand. ESPN On Demand ranked #1 among men. The percent of subs interested in a $10/month DVR service jumped to 31% from 24% in ’04. Interest in HD stayed about the same at 31%.
