Aurora Networks has announced that its NC2000 optical node is available throughout the Americas. Earlier this year, Aurora Networks introduced the NC2000 optical node in Europe. For cable operators expanding their network evolution to the MDU market and low-density rural areas, the NC2000 enables operators to maximize the bandwidth of existing hybrid fiber-coax (HFC), Fiber Deep and RF Over Glass (RFoG) deployments. It simultaneously provides an optimal migration path to future network architectures with support for next-generation access modules, Node PON, Fiber on Demand and BitCoax.

The platform’s bottom-entry, low-profile design is ideal for cable operators working in space-constrained areas, given that the node’s housing can be mounted on walls, inside pedestals and underground.
