ARRIS’ ConvergeMedia family of products is a management suite intended for enhanced services such as VOD and advanced advertising. Its components include on-demand management, advertising management, and device applications.

The platform consists of two new media switching systems, the XMS Origin server and the MDX. The XMS (any ‘X’ media stored and streamed) Origin server has a high storage to stream ratio and is intended for centralized and large video libraries. The MDX (Media Distribution Switch ‘X’), developed by Verivue, is a high capacity media delivery system built on a network platform, combining scalable network transport with media storage and streaming.
