At SCTE Cable-Tec 2009, Norway-based Appear TV will launch two new products into the North American market. The company will show a high density bulk descrambler and an advanced MPEG-2/4 SD and HD decoder designed to help MSOs meet a growing consumer demand for more channels and more HD content.?

The new Appear TV high-density bulk descrambler module allows up to 250 services to be descrambled using a single 1RU chassis. The new module also integrates with any software-based conditional access (CA) solution.

The new MPEG-4 HD decoder enables up to 30 HD channels to be decoded in either SD/HD or MPEG-4 AVC/SD/HD format, including HD to SD down-conversion. The module also enables SD/HD-SDI output with embedded audio.
