Amazon Streams Tripled

Video streams on Amazon Prime Instant Video nearly tripled YOY in 1Q, said the company, which reported earnings late Thurs. Overall, Amazon posted net income of $108mln, in line with analysts' expectations. During the quarter, the company scored a content licensing deal with HBO, making its Prime Instant Video the only SVOD home for HBO programming. During the earnings conference call, CFO Thomas Szkutak said the company's pleased with initial results of Amazon Fire TV, the company's streaming device launched earlier this month.
