At CableLabs Winter Conference in Atlanta, Alticast has partnered with streaming technology company Strategy & Technology (S&T) to demonstrate the delivery of dynamic, social, request-for-information (RFI) campaigns to EBIF enabled set-top boxes. The demonstration, which uses Alticast’s altiConnect Social RFI system integrated with the S&T TSBroadcaster, is on display at the conference.

The altiConnect Social RFI system includes all of the campaign management and headend management server tools needed for content programmers and cable operators to deploy simple, one-click Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare campaigns that allow subscribers to connect with the content and brands they like from their EBIF-enabled set-top box on cable networks.

Alticast has partnered with S&T to integrate the altiConnect headend management server with S&T’s TSBroadcaster in order to automate the application loading process and dynamically update the EBIF application template on the set-top box using S&T’s stream event tools.

Through this partnership, content programmers and cable operators now can efficiently distribute multiple Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare campaigns by updating small amounts of campaign event metadata for a single EBIF application instead of distributing multiple fully-loaded EBIF applications on the network.
