Aereo at SCOTUS – Justices Grill Both Sides on Copyright, Cloud Issues

It’s hard to speculate about the final SCOTUS vote on the broadcasters’ case against Aereo. While the justices questioned the legitimacy of Aereo’s service during a 1-hour oral argument Tues, they seemed well aware of the potentially profound implications of any decision on broadcast and other video technology, including cloud DVR service. Justices debate the “transmit clause” of the Copyright Act and how cloud technology could be affected, while attorneys respond to the discussion.
