Mindy Grossman
Title: CEO/Director, HSN
Number of Years in Cable: 7
Education: Manhattanville College, George Washington University

Best Advice in 7 Words or Less: Surround yourself with Tiggers not Eyores!

Why Her? A savvy businesswoman and entrepreneurs’ champion, Grossman continues to take HSN to greater heights by embracing innovative partnerships that meld commerce with entertainment. In the last year, she has ramped up the network’s collaboration with film studios to create product lines and events inspired by popular films like “The Help” and “Snow White and the Huntsman.” The result? Awareness of the films skyrocketed. Another strategic focus for Grossman is music. Sales of artist releases from Rod Stewart and Lionel Richie broke records. Moving forward we’ll see more technological innovation from the network. It already used QR codes on-air to sell merchandise during a three-day pilot event in 2011 and will continue to explore opportunities with online, mobile and gaming platforms with which to engage customers. It’s shopping like you’ve never seen it.

Favorite decade? Definitely the 70s…. women were finding their voice… Scorsese at his best; Yves St. Laurent and Diane Von Furstenberg ruling the runways; and the music!! Led Zeppelin, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Queen…I could go on and on.
I watch the majority of programming on this device: TV and iPad…usually at the same time!
Celebrity, sports figure or politician I’d most want to have dinner with? Lady Gaga – She is a force of nature!
Dish I can make and that would impress a celebrity chef: Cooking is one of my favorite escapes and I love to prepare Julia Child’s classic dish Coq au Vin. Not only is it delicious, but you get to cook with red wine, how much fun is that!
The TV show title that most resembles my life is… “The Big Bang Theory.” My husband is a mathematical physicist and I so relate to Penny. ?
