Why Him? That neck-whipping new cloud-based service Brian Roberts was touting at the Cable Show? Behind-the-scenes man Werner is responsible for developing and guiding Comcast’s technology strategy and evolving network architecture, which means he is the science behind the art of connecting your Twitter account with your Friday night TV viewing. Werner and his team are working around the clock to test new interactive features that let customers interact with the programming they watch in unique ways. He’ll also be working with members of the Internet community, developers and engineers throughout the industry to foster open standards and enable interoperability.

Year Ahead: Comcast has staked its claim as a technology innovator; which will keep Werner busy for the foreseeable future. ?
