Comcast Corporation has named Cathy Avgiris as senior vice president and general manager of communications and data services for Comcast Cable. Avgiris is responsible for all aspects of Comcast’s Xfinity Internet and Xfinity voice services as well as the company’s High-Speed 2go 4G/3G wireless data service.

Avgiris is a 17-year veteran of the communications industry. She has received numerous accolades for her achievements including: being named one of the “Top 15 Women in Business” by PINK Magazine, the “Most Powerful Women in Cable” by Cable World, a “Wonder Women” by Multichannel News, and a recipient of the Women in Cable and Telecommunications (WICT) Liberty Award.?

Avgiris earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Baruch College and she is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and Pennsylvania.
