Time Warner Cable ratcheted up its carriage negotiations with GSN, threatening to drop them from several systems by the middle of the month. Systems threatening to drop the Sony/Liberty-owned channel include NYC (1.2mln subs) and Binghamton, NY (200K subs), where TW says it will replace GSN with its NY Mets RSN SportsNet NY. GSN also is running into problems in NC, where the system is threatening to move GSN and The Outdoor Channel to a digital sports tier called "Sports & Games Pack" by the end of the month. The NC system also is planning to move Sundance to a digital movie tier and Fuse from expanded basic to digital. TW says these moves were made as part of a periodic review that allows divisions to make channel changes. "We move and remove channels based on many factors including cost, the network’s investment in new programming and ratings," TW said.
