Grossman has positioned HSNi as a leader in “boundary-less retail,” providing customers with seamless shopping experiences spanning multiple platforms. While television and digital sales saw steady growth this year, the company’s mobile sales skyrocketed by 46% and 17% of mobile shoppers were new customers, validating Grossman’s focus on staying ahead of both retail and technology trends. Despite a busy schedule, she makes time to mentor others. “For as much time as I devote to enriching the lives of others, it is returned to me tenfold.”

 

What’s the most important aspect of mentoring?

I make it a priority to mentor our next generation of leaders and have found young minds to be a great source of personal inspiration. For as much time as I devote to enriching the lives of others, it is returned to me tenfold. I encourage those that I mentor to be passionate about what you do and always strive to have lasting impact.

 

Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?

I’m not sure there is such a thing as maintaining or even achieving personal-professional life balance. I have, and continue to work at creating balance in my life. I am purposeful in where I give my time and talents, and believe that sometimes it’s not possible to have it all at once. Accepting that allows me to better manage the inevitable ebbs and flows.

 

Your favorite trick for unwinding?

I have recently rediscovered painting. I am able to really lose myself, disconnect and be focused in the moment of creating a beautiful canvas.
