In addition to fighting ever-rising retransmission costs and hammering out contract renewals with major programming partners, York has been heavily involved in the launch of Yaveo, DirecTV’s first OTT streaming service for Spanish-language viewers. On the programming side, York oversees DirecTV’s Audience Network, which has entered the original content game with innovative series like “Rogue” and “Full Circle.” In high demand on the L.A. party circuit, you’ll probably see York at the next Hollywood bash—assuming he can steal a few minutes away from the negotiating table.
