Motorola Mobility (Booth 2812) will introduce the Motorola GT-3 ABR Transcoder, a device it claims is “the industry’s only 3-gigapixel ABR transcoder.” According to the company, the GT-3 offers two performance advantages for operators: It enables a broader selection of video data rates and resolutions to match the dynamic bandwidth of unmanaged networks, and its efficiency in video compression can provide higher-quality video using the same amount of bandwidth or the same video quality at much lower bitrates. The transcoder supports as many as 24 inputs and as many as 16 output streams per input program for flexible support of more video display devices…Cheetah Technologies (Booth 1821) will unveil Cheetah CloudXD 2.0, a cloud-based system delivered via an IPSec based, IP VPN service terminated and managed by Cheetah through a virtual Network Operations Center (NOC) in Cheetah’s data center. The company says this approach “eliminates the incredibly complex tasks customers’ face of configuration and managing behaviors, thresholds and alarms and enables users to focus their time on analyzing data and improving network performance”… Dubbed the “first amplifier supporting return path DOCSIS 3.0 channel bonding with 5 megahertz to 300 megahertz bandwidth,” the TAT3814 from TriQuint Semiconductor (Booth 1821) reportedly simplifies return path system designs by integrating 36 dB of gain and 20 dB of automatic gain control (AGC) attenuation in a single 6×6 mm surface-mount solution. It is suited for cable-modem, DOCSIS Set-top Gateway (DSG), set-top-box (STB) as well as optical node and new combined line extender/optical node applications. High bandwidth helps support cloud-based access, video calling, peer-to-peer access and other service expansions…Entone Inc. (Booth 827) will show its Magi Hybrid CATV Media Gateway powered by the company’s FusionTV. With Magi, Entone says cablecos can provide linear and OTT services in a single, operator-branded user interface for a seamless user experience. Magi features an integrated DOCSIS 3.0 modem for supporting video over IP streaming and interactive applications. With MoCA and Wi-Fi support, it integrates with existing home networks and broadband services for quick installation. To minimize truck rolls and reduce support costs, Magi provides automatic configuration and remote administration via TR-069.
