This year’s call for papers for the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2012 in Orlando garnered 250 submissions, “encompassing and exceeding the breadth of topics that were recommended by the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo Program Committee,” notes the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), and topping last year’s total.

“Cable continues to seek new ways to maximize the benefits of new technologies and increase the industry’s competitive edge,” says Jim Ludington, executive vice president/Network National Operations at Time Warner Cable and chairman of the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2012 Program Committee. “The deep pool of abstracts we’ve received for Cable-Tec Expo 2012 will lay the groundwork for an enriching and informative educational program that will help all segments of the industry to reduce cost, increase network performance and achieve new levels of customer satisfaction.”

The abstract pool includes topics in six categories: Business Services, Capacity Management, Network & Technical Operations, Smart Energy Management Initiative (SEMI), Engineering and Wireless/Wi-Fi.  Selected abstracts will be announced by June 29.

SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2012 is set for Oct. 17-19 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
