Rogers Cable Communications launched its new 50Mbps Internet service, Rogers Ultimate High-Speed Internet.

The Ultimate Internet service is now available in select areas of the Greater Toronto Area for $149.99 a month, with respective download and upload speeds of up to 50Mbps and up to 2Mbps and a monthly usage allowance of 175GB. This service will be rolled out further in the coming months.

This new service follows Rogers Cable’s launch last month of the fastest wireless home networking device available in North America, the DOCSIS 3.0 N gateway. By subscribing to the 50Mbps Internet service combined with the N gateway, customers will experience the ultimate in high-speed Internet service and capacity for their work and play. This exciting and innovative new service combination allows multiple computing devices to be easily and quickly connected anywhere in the house with superior speed, reliability and portability.

"We are excited to once again bring such innovative technology and leading edge speeds to our customers, making it an ideal service for gamers and multimedia enthusiasts alike," said Chris Draper, VP of product management, Rogers Cable, in a statement.
