The six SoCs in the MxL500 family reportedly are the first single-chip FSC satellite front-end devices on the market, supporting between one and four RF inputs and up to eight DVB-S/S2 demodulator outputs. They target next-gen satellite gateways and set-top boxes that support multi-screen viewing, personal video recorder (PVR) functionality, emerging “catch-up television” features and fast-channel-change capability. They also support the needs of next-gen digital satellite antenna Low Noise Block (LNB) applications…TriQuint Semiconductor Inc. will intro 12 new products at European Microwave Week in Amsterdam, set for Oct. 29-31. The solutions include RF GPS diplexers that reduce PCB space nearly three times compared to ceramic filter products, the company says, and new packaged transistors and amplifiers include four based on gallium nitride (GaN) and four based on gallium arsenide (GaAs) technology.
