The apps are available from the App Store or at www.itunes.com/appstore…France-based specialist test-house LAN Digital Applications Laboratory is offering test services for FTTH/G-PON products, from pre-testing to full BBF.247 certification of Optical Network Units (ONU). LAN also is offering a range of pre-test services. In addition, LAN was selected by the Broadband Forum as the official Test Agency authorized to administer the approved BBF.247 tests and to assess the eligibility of products for the Broadband Forum BBF.247 Certification…The RM024 Range-Amplified MultiPoint (RAMP) wireless module from Laird Technologies is backward compatible with the LT2510 module and also offers a new RF front end for improved sleep, an improved link budget and a switchable antenna output. The company says the module is suitable for machine-to-machine applications; sensing and control networks; and long-range, low-bandwidth digital signage. The RM024 module is available in two maximum conducted output powers: 125 mW and 50 mW…China’s ZTE Corporation announced a full hardware and software solution integrating low-bit-rate high definition (HD), over the top TV (OTT), and multiscreen convergence. The solution supports OTT services on multiple screens for varying devices (TV, PCs, tablets and mobile phones). ZTE’s low bit rate HD coding technique transmits 720p video with a code rate of 3 Mbps rather than 8 Mbps…Analog Devices Inc. unveiled two RF D/A converters that can synthesize the entire downstream (transmit) cable spectrum from a single RF port. Supporting data rates as fast as 2.8 GSPS, the single-channel, 14-bit AD9129 and 11-bit AD9119 RF D/A converters reportedly allow cablecos to reduce the total system power and component count of CATV (CMTS) infrastructure equipment, simplify system design, and lower total bill of material costs. The new RF D/A converters support from one to as many as 158 CATV carriers and include an optional 2× interpolation filter that reduces output filtering complexity by effectively increasing the D/A converter update rate by a factor of two.
