Combined, the new MX 2020 3D Universal Edge Router and new JunosV App Engine from Juniper Networks reportedly speed time to revenue by as much as 69 percent. The solutions build on recently announced consumer and business services that allow customers to leverage their existing infrastructure to maximize revenue opportunities through rapid service deployment. At 80 Tbps of capacity, a single MX 2020 3D Universal Edge router has enough bandwidth to deliver HD video to the equivalent of every household in New York — and still have room for New Jersey, the company says. The app engine is the first hypervisor for the edge. Service providers can drag and drop such existing apps as load balancing, security services, online gaming and advertising as well as simultaneously operate apps from any vendor to help them drive new streams of revenue quickly…Managed-services provider tw telecom unveiled a real-time bandwidth-on-demand service called Dynamic Capacity to local businesses and organizations in the Washington, D.C., area. The service allows enterprise customers to reconfigure their networks in real time, to immediately double or triple network capacity without service interruption and to have total visibility of all network metrics. For a limited time, customers that purchase tw telecom’s E-Line services with Dynamic Capacity will have the subscription fee waived and will receive the company’s Enhanced Management service, an Intelligent Network feature that provides businesses with greater visibility into their network performance by delivering real-time, end-to-end, segment-by-segment performance metrics. The service also is available in Northern Virginia and most parts of Maryland…Velocity-3 is a fully integrated Vectored VDSL chipset and software solution from Ikanos Communications it says enables carriers to deliver such bandwidth-intensive services as HDTV, high-speed Internet, bandwidth-rich cloud content access, VoIP and more at approximately one-tenth the cost of deploying a pure fiber solution to individual homes. The chipset is powered by NodeScale Vectoring technology that supports as many as 384 copper lines in a fiber terminated installation (FTTx). Velocity-3 identifies and cancels VDSL crosstalk from all lines in the vectored group, independent of binder, cable or chassis, thus increasing rate, reach, robustness and reliability…Verizon Enterprise Solutions now is delivering Virtual Communications Express, designed for the small and medium-sized business market. The service combines Verizon’s VoIP solution with Broadsoft’s cloud infrastructure to help eliminate the need for on-site PBX equipment and licensing upgrades for new features. Advanced features include simultaneous ringing of an office, mobile or home-office line; visual voice mail messages that can be read via email; and Office Anywhere, which forwards incoming calls from an office to a mobile line and displays outgoing calls made from a mobile or home phone identified with an office phone number.  The service also enables traditional PBX features such as enhanced hunt group and call queuing. Companies using Google Apps for Business can download a Virtual Communications Express app from the Google Apps Marketplace to allow users to make calls from Gmail, GChat and Google Calendar. Individuals can also see if other Google Apps users are available to join a call instantly. By integrating with user account and application data stored in Google Apps, Verizon says these cloud apps provide a simpler user experience, increase business efficiency, and reduce administrative overhead…The RC-600 Ratcheting Cable Cutter from Jonard Industries is a heavy-duty tool for 600 mcm stranded copper cables or 750 mcm stranded aluminum cables with a maximum capacity of 1.75 inches in diameter.
