The device then generates documentation verifying network connectivity and job completion to initiate customer payment. A bi-directional "pass/fail" test of a network’s links based on IEEE 802.3ab determines whether the installed cable can support higher-bandwidth applications…The PRS1021 Low Power 60 GHz Transceiver from Canada’s Peraso Technologies Inc. targets such emerging mobile apps as multi-gigabit wireless I/O and high-definition wireless display. The device includes 7mm x 7mm x 0.6mm package with integrated antennas, transmit power consumption of 310mW at 16.5 dBm EIRP and receive power consumption of 270 mW. It is compatible with the WiGig Version 1.1 and Draft IEEE 802.11ad specifications, at PHY data rates in excess of 2.5 Gb/s…SBTV is a new platform from Inmarsat that enables airlines to provide real-time and updated on-demand entertainment content to passengers’ own devices. News, sports and other video content is transmitted to the aircraft over the SwiftBroadband network and then distributed wirelessly to passengers’ own devices, which can include smartphones, laptops, tablets and other personal players.  SBTV can be deployed quickly at low cost to the airline, and it may be integrated on existing Wi-Fi or IFE systems, the operator notes, adding more than 24 airlines have selected Inmarsat technology for in-flight connectivity, including British Airways, Emirates, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines and TAM Airlines.
