IEEE 802.3 defines the physical (PHY) and media access control (MAC) layers of Ethernet transmission across wired connections of multiple media. The update includes various technical updates and enhancements, and it consolidates several amendments to the base standard that were approved since IEEE 802.3’s last full revision in 2008…KeyQuick mechanical splice and field-installable connectors from Brand-Rex in the U.K. features a transparent body with refractive properties that help ensure accuracy by acting as a visual fault detector. A red light becomes visible within the splice body when fibers are misaligned, but then disappears when a good connection is made. This design also means that no additional tools are required to verify the connection…The newest version of Incognito Software’s Service Activation Center allows service providers to critical subscriber data using both Internet Protocol Detail Record (IPDR) and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). It then correlates this information with other service-activation data, including subscriber, device, and geographic location, to create a holistic and subscriber-aware view of the network. This data can then be exported to CSV, XLS, PDF or HTML files and used by various departments to help plan marketing incentives, product upgrades and network changes.
