The program includes a TVWS compliance API, test methods and certification procedures, FCC Part 15 certification support and a pre-certification audit to help ensure compliance with 47 CFR Part 15…Two new free space optical wireless systems from fSONA Systems – the SONAbeam 2500-E and the SONAbeam 2500-Z – reportedly can transmit as much as 2.5 Gbps (2xGigE, OC48/STM16) of full duplex bandwidth. The SONAbeam 2500-E typically operates at distances to 1 kilometer, and the SONAbeam 2500-Z to 350 meters. Both systems include a pair of GigE interface ports to provide 2.5 Gbps, full-duplex links via an indoor multiplexer…Recent enhancements to the Versatile Link Plastic Optical Fiber product family from Avago Technologies give designers more capability to integrate their designs more cost-effectively “without compromising on performance or circuit isolation,” the company says. Integrated circuits within the Versatile Link components manage the translation from electrical-optical signals on both ends, and the new products are the first Versatile Link parts to offer 3.3-volt and 5-volt power-supply options…Envivio will unveil enhancements to the Envivio Halo(TM) network media processor, adding support for advanced TV Anytime multi-screen services. Features include time-shifted TV on any screen, Personalized Index Creation (PIC), targeted ad-insertion and blackout management, and support for MPEG-DASH with ISO/IEC Common Encryption (CENC) standards along with Flash RTMP…The Enhanced Video Intelligence Architecture (eVIA) from RGB Networks now includes the newly upgraded TransAct encoder/transcoder for ingesting uncompressed SDI-sourced live content as well as IP and file input for live or on-demand IP video delivery to smartphones, tablets, PCs, connected TVs and traditional set-top boxes.
