Adobe Pass 2.0 has added several capabilities, including: Auto-Authentication (used by Comcast and Cablevision during the London Olympic Games), Free Preview (for temporary access to premium TV content online for a pre-determined amount of time while user credentials are verified) and server side API (allowing the integration of authentication within native applications from virtually any connected device)…The Bluesocket virtual Wireless LAN (vWLAN) solution from Adtran Inc. now offers service providers and value-added resellers (VARs) multiple customer-premise equipment (CPE) deployment options,  including resale, managed and cloud-hosted services. The company’s  software-based vWLAN solution used virtualization and allows the controller to be based at the NOC while the data sessions remain at the end-user’s LAN, helping to avoid the need to backhaul user traffic…Kahuna Flare, the newest member of Snell Group’s suite of SD/HD/1080p multi-format production switchers, reportedly is the first mid-level switcher to offer standard single-link 1080p support alongside SD and HD formats. With versions ranging from 2 M/E to 4 M/E, Kahuna Flare offers four keyers per M/E and two channels of 3D DVE, all in a single 6U rack frame. The system comes standard with 48 inputs and 24 outputs, with the option to upgrade to 60 inputs and 32 outputs…Thomson Video Networks and BuyDRM say Thomson’s ViBE VS7000 multiscreen video platform is fully compatible with the KeyOS DRM, allowing operators to provide WebTV/OTT services to connected devices like smart TVs, iPads, iPhones and Android devices securely. "The live and off-line encoding performance of the ViBE VS7000 is such that the quality of experience for OTT services is very close or equal to what a user can expect from a traditional payTV delivery platform such as satellite, terrestrial or cable," explains Eric Gallier, vice president/Marketing at Thomson Video Networks…Transcode Multiscreen and Lightspeed Server from Telestream work together to provide GPU acceleration of video processing and H.264 encoding and to enable faster speeds.
