In the United States, PBS has 354 member TV stations. Both companies say they support the World Broadcasting Unions – International Satellite Operations Group (WBU-ISOG), the GVF (Global VSAT Forum) and SIRG (Satellite Interference Reduction Group) to promote and implement Carrier ID standardization…Managed video provider Nevion will unveil a suite of optical conversion solutions at next week’s IBC show, including new Flashlink active and passive optical modules, dubbed the WOC series, that provide protected and cost-efficient CWDM protection. In addition, a new high-performance CWDM system (CWDM1-8/CWDM9-16), based on eight-channel optical filters, lets operators scale as needed through an upgrade port, supporting as many as 16 channels of bidirectional traffic on the same fiber.  Other products include the 18-channel, bidirectional optical CWDM filter (CWDM18) that can function as a multiplexer or de-multiplexer, and occupies one Flashlink slot, and the next-gen Flashlink Compact 2 that provides 36 channels supported by multiple electrical-to-optical and optical-to-electrical conversion…DVEO is shipping the Infinity Streamer multichannel (video on demand) streaming server that handles multiple HLS video files plus audio files from the on board .5 TB drive, with scheduled playlists. File types supported include H.264 ts, flv, H.264 ps, .mov, VC-1 (.wmv) and mkv. The streamer also supports loopable playback.
