T-Mobile USA is offering what it claims is an industry first: “a truly unlimited, nationwide 4G data plan” with no data caps, speed limits or bill shock. Starting Sept. 5, the new plan will cost $20/month when added to a “Value” voice and text plan or $30/month when added to a “Classic” voice and text plan…Cox Communications now offers Home Security, featuring intrusion and home-safety monitoring (includes fire, gas and flood), remote access from a secure online site or smartphone app, email/text alerts to notify customers of occurrences at the home, safety sensors to detect such hazardous conditions as carbon monoxide and smoke, secure video monitoring via smartphone or Web browser and control of such home functions as lighting and temperature…The Fiber Lab Flex Optical Fiber Testing Platform from N.C.-based M2 Optics Inc. is a 19-in., rack-mountable instrument that accepts as many as 10 removable modules; each can be filled with as much as 10 kilometers of any fiber type or brand and can be supplied with any standard connector, allowing for the mixing of different lengths and a “build-as-you-go” solution. Pricing is based on fiber type and length configuration, and each module can be purchased separately…Agilent Technologies’ 33500B Series waveform generators include eight new one- and two-channel models that generate waveforms to 30 MHz and incorporate Trueform signal-generation technology. The company says the generators provide the lowest jitter and lowest total harmonic distortion in their class, and that, with total harmonic distortion less than 0.04 percent and non-harmonic spurs less than 75 dBc, they offer clean signals that don’t introduce noise…Training provider TrainSignal released an upgraded Cisco CCNA training video course developed to meet all exam objectives for the various CCNA certification routes. Techs can choose between a two-exam process — ICND1 (CCENT) and ICND2 — or to test on all the material at once. The course covers STP and RSTP; Binary Math and Network Subnetting; IPv4 and IPv6 Fundamentals; LAN, WAN, WLAN Principles & Operations; and networking models OSI and TCP IP. The full CCNA package costs $397, but the modules can be purchased individually.
