At this week’s CableLabs Winter Conference itaas will showcase an application for consumers to remotely control their set-top through tablet devices. The application, being shown on both EBIF and native platforms, expands the capabilities of the installed base of set-tops to allow consumers to manage and control their TV video content through an iPad or other tablet, Web-enabled mobile or desktop device.

By harnessing the processing power and flexibility of these CE products, itaas can provide additional features such as enhanced search and discovery, remote management of DVR, impulse buying and transactional TV. The use of both EBIF and native guide control of the set-top provides additional flexibility for cable operators currently considering interactive options.
