Argentina’s Servicio Satelital S.A. will use the SkyEdge II Hub and broadband satellite platform from Israel’s Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. to upgrade its existing network and to provide additional support to hundreds of existing and new sites. The IP-based network also will be used to provide service to telecom operators and ISPs that require satellite connectivity in the region…Cypriot operator PrimeTel is working with SmartLabs to supply a service-delivery platform for digital TV SmartTUBE SDP, monitoring system SmartSPY and SML-303 Hybrid set-top boxes. PrimeTel PLC offers traditional IPTV services and now plans to promote DVB-T broadcasting with interactive services delivered over the Internet, “significantly strengthening its position in the Cyprus pay-TV market,” it says.
