WhereverTV, a subscription OTT video service, is partnering with delivery network service provider Akamai to improve its content delivery platform and user experience. The partnership is expected to enable WhereverTV to deliver programming to various devices including connected TVs, streaming media players, smartphones, tablets and PCs. The company is using Akamai’s Adaptive Media Delivery to help provide streaming service as well as content targeting for compliance with regional licensing agreements. It’s also using Akamai’s Media Services Live for linear streaming.
