Marketers, take note: We reported in Cablefax Daily yesterday that the rebranded TVGN, which will launch January 14 as “POP,” will become the first net to develop and launch its primary digital voice with its web destination on Tumblr. Indeed, it’s a fast-growing social platform–and according the Global Web Index, says this article from Tech Crunch, Tumblr’s active user base has grown by 120% in the last six months. Facebook’s grew by only 2%, though it’s still the most widely used. Pinterest takes the lead in overall member growth, above Facebook’s 6% growth in member base.

With 1.35 billion active monthly users, Facebook continues to be the world’s largest social network by some margin, but when it comes to picking up new users, it appears to have reached a saturation point. Research out today from the Global Web Index notes that Tumblr’s active user base in the last six months grew by 120%, while Facebook’s grew by only 2%.

Denver University Set to Buy Cable Center Building

The Syndeo Institute at The Cable Center has entered into a tentative agreement with the University of Denver to sell the more than 75,000-square-foot building that’s housed the nonprofit educational arm of the cable industry since 2001. Financials weren’t disclosed.
