Another day, another VR acquisition. This is time it’s Facebook, and the company, Two Big Ears, specializes in audio for both virtual reality and 360 video, The Verge reports. Though Facebook owns the Oculus Rift headset, this product is designed specifically for Facebook. The “Facebook 360 Spatial Workstation” will allow VR audio to work on all platforms and devices. Spatial sound is huge in the VR space, so this represents Facebook’s further interest in the space–beyond the obvious connection to Oculus Rift.

Facebook has acquired virtual reality audio company Two Big Ears, and it’s using its platform to promote high-quality VR audio. The acquisition, reported by VentureBeat , means that Facebook is rereleasing Two Big Ears’ “Spatial Workstation” software as the Facebook 360 Spatial Workstation, currently available here.
